Through years of formal and informal studies on the lasting effects of colonialism, Jake realized the power of food systems as a tool of local, regional, and global economic justice. With deep passion, a degree in International Studies and Spanish, and professional experience in direct international trade as well as non-profit management and labor advocacy, Jake joined Equal Exchange in 2022. As part of the EE team, he now works with Latin American small-scale producer groups forging nuanced supply chains that leverage the value of organic produce exports to strengthen communities from origin to destination.
