Rodrigo Bedoya
Co-Founder, La Grama
As an agronomist with a deep passion for organic agriculture, Rodrigo co-founded La Grama with college friends Janos and Diego after working as an organic inspector for a Dutch certifier in Lima, Peru. Over the years, Rodrgio conducted organic inspections throughout Latin America and led the introduction of organic ginger exports from Peru to the US and Europe, helping to create a new industry. He expanded La Grama to a global scale, exporting to the US, Canada, China, and Europe. He often is found advocating for integrity in organic certification, challenging industry norms. “My motto, "Organic is Not Enough," underscores the belief that ethical practices, labor rights, and food safety are as vital as organic certification. At La Grama, we focus on empowering small-scale growers and employees by providing fair employment and global market access.” La Grama has established health and education programs for its workers and their families, key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Their mission is about more than business – it's about positively transforming lives. Looking ahead, Rodrigo’s goal is to keep innovating and expanding La Grama, ensuring its products meet the highest standards while leaving a legacy of positive change. “The blend of professional excellence and social responsibility continues to drive our vision of sustainable agriculture with lasting social impact.”
